Drees Homes Wins Top Honors at the Great American Living Awards

It turned out to be a very successful night for the Drees Homes Washington D.C. team at the recent GALA event, held by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association. The GALA, better known as the Great American Living Awards, is a yearly event that honors the building industry’s best and brightest. This year’s ceremony saw two Drees model homes take home awards for exceptional design, architecture and merchandising. A Drees Market Manager was also honored for his outstanding performance.
Let’s take a deeper look at the winners and why the NVBIA chose to recognize each with prestigious awards.
Luxury begins as soon as you step into the foyer of the Christopher model home. This stylish paired villa features a spacious family room and a well-appointed kitchen. The open and airy plan is perfect for relaxing, dining or entertaining, and the living space is expanded with an outdoor deck overlooking a gorgeous, wooded view.
As you ascend the stairs to the second level, you will find a convenient loft area that can be used as a workspace, as well as multiple bedrooms, including an exquisite owner’s suite with warm wood accents, a private bath and a walk-in closet. Wood trim is again featured in the finished lower level, creating an inviting space for relaxing or gathering with friends and family.
Like the Christopher, the Lily boasts many upgraded features. An L-shaped “living triangle,” consisting of the family room, kitchen and breakfast nook, provides simultaneously open, yet clearly defined living spaces. The thoughtfully designed kitchen incorporates all the most desirable counter, cabinet and appliance trends that buyers look for, while also offering many opportunities for those who want to put their own custom touches into the space.
The dramatic turned staircase highlighted by a wall of windows keeps the home feeling light and airy as you move toward the living spaces at the rear of the home. The real “show-stopper” feature can be seen off the back of the home in the form of the extremely popular covered outdoor living space complete with a fireplace wall. In addition to this year’s GALA award, he has earned the Drees Homes Market Manager of the Year award, as well as the 100% Achiever Outstanding Performance award multiple times.
