As a Realtor, Kelley Liu understands the excitement that buyers feel when building a new home. In fact, she was touring the Drees community for her own buyers when she decided that she wanted to build a home here too.
Kelley and her husband decided to build because their four children were growing up, and their space needed to evolve to reflect their changing needs. Among these - the conversion of their formal dining room into a place to practice music.

My husband and I fell in love with the Lauren II floor plan, which was the model we toured. We wanted to build a one-story home that featured an open layout with the kitchen overlooking the family room. Additionally, the Lauren II had a study and formal dining area, which we could use as a piano room. The game and media spaces were also a must for our kids. The Lauren II really checked all the boxes of our criteria.
The large windows bringing in natural light makes our home inviting and warm. The tall ceilings make the floor plan feel very grand and elegant. Little details like crown molding, architectural bump-outs and tray ceilings truly made the home more special to us.
Working with the Drees Design Center team was the most fun. Our Design Consultant was able to help us put our vision on paper with all the selections and custom build-outs captured in one place. She would make suggestions to achieve what we wanted while still keeping to our budget.
As a buyer and Realtor, I understand the excitement that buyers feel when building a new home. There are different expectations when building a home vs. buying a resale home, such as more meetings to attend and delays in the process, but those are all worth it in the end when you have built the home with all your custom features. It takes patience and lots of open communications between the buyers, Market Manager, Design Consultant, Builder and Realtor.
Drees builds in many desirable locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It is a reputable company who offered customization of the floor plan we wanted in the location we desired.
