FORT MITCHELL, Kentucky — Drees Homes, an award‑winning national home builder, announced the appointment of Scott Drees as Midwest Regional President, overseeing divisions in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Cleveland, Columbus and Indianapolis. He succeeds Steve Tuckerman, who is retiring after nearly 39 years in the home building industry. Tuckerman first joined Drees Homes in 2004 and served as Cleveland Division President before leading the Midwest region for the last 11 years. His leadership through the Great Recession, the COVID-19 pandemic and periods of sustained growth left a lasting impact on the company and its culture.
Scott Drees, the founder’s great-grandson and a fourth-generation leader of the family business, steps into the role after a decade of advancement that began as a Builder Trainee in 2015. He has since held key positions, including Midwest Land Acquisition Manager, Indianapolis Sales Manager and Townhome Division President, earning recognition for combining operational excellence with strong partner relationships. In addition to his time at Drees, he previously held project engineer roles with three leading national construction companies. Drees holds a Master of Business Administration with a graduate certificate in real estate from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Colorado State University.
Most recently, Drees led strategic process improvements within the Townhome division, including a streamlined construction schedule that improved efficiency and expanded buyer flexibility. These efforts drove stronger on-time production and sales with the division exceeding its annual goals and maintaining a 92% customer satisfaction rating. He also helped lead the highly visible Covington Central Riverfront townhomes project.
“Scott has consistently demonstrated the ability to translate smart processes into real business results,” said Tuckerman. “His leadership, deep understanding of operations and relationships, and forward-thinking mindset make him the right leader as we guide the Midwest region toward our centennial milestone and beyond.”
“I’m honored to step into this role at such an exciting moment for Drees Homes,” Drees said. “As we prepare for our 100th anniversary in 2028, my focus is on building momentum—supporting our teams, strengthening partnerships and delivering exceptional homes throughout the Midwest.”
Drees Homes is currently ranked as the nation’s 37th‑largest home builder and the 18th‑largest privately held builder.
