Drees Homes Announces Strategic Changes to Its Leadership Lineup

Sep 23, 2024

FORT MITCHELL, Ky. — Drees Homes, an award-winning national home builder, announced the retirement of a long-time contributor to the homebuilding industry and the appointment of the organization’s newest President. The retirement of Executive Vice President of Homebuilding Operations Dan Jones is the catalyst for change within the company’s leadership structure.

Jones joined Drees Homes in 2001 following the acquisition of Zaring Homes, where he served as president. In his most recent role, he oversaw the company’s 13 metropolitan divisions and led marketing, production, land and product strategy. Jones has been instrumental in guiding the company through some of the most challenging periods, including economic downturns and the pandemic. President and Chief Executive Officer David Drees said, “Dan’s leadership, ability to pivot, and dedication to supporting his team have been crucial to our success. Dan’s genuine care for people and unwavering loyalty to Drees and the Drees family have left an indelible mark.”

When Jones retires, Tim Terrell, the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will be promoted to President, while David Drees continues to serve as CEO. Terrell has been a strategic partner since 2017, guiding key company decisions and overseeing several departments. Prior to joining Drees, Terrell was the Vice President of Finance and Capital Management at the Kroger Company.

Terrell shared, “For 96-years, the incredibly talented team members at Drees Homes have been enriching lives by making it easy for families to build their dream home. It’s an honor to be part of a company with such a rich heritage, and I look forward to collaborating with our dedicated team to further accelerate our growth and enhance the homebuyer experience.”

As Drees Homes counts down to its 100th anniversary in 2028, it will be focused on its Centennial Strategy, aimed at growing operations, both nationwide and locally. Drees shared, “I am incredibly excited as we approach our centennial celebration. This milestone is a testament to our legacy and the hard work of our devoted team.”
